This spell creates a semi-ethereal hammer approximately the same size as the target. The hammer slams down on the target, sounding a large gong as it does so. The semi-ethereal state means that this spell can affect undead and creatures partially existing or totally existing in the ethereal plane. Saving throws, damage, and knockdowns are dependent upon target and caster alignments:

The material components to this spell are a hammer and a small crystal ball. The hammer must be made of mithril, worth at least 1,000 GP, and is not consumed. The crystal ball is struck during the casting of this spell with the hammer and shattered, and therefore cannot be reused.
